Debut of a Live 3D Teleconferencing system at ASC2008 on Dec. 1, 2008 by the Graphics Laboratory from the University of Southern California's Institute for Creative Technologies. The participant is scanned in real time in 3D using structured light and the geometry and texture is transmitted in real time to a spinning mirror with high speed video projection, resulting in a hologram-like 3D image of the person speaking.
