The Indian Navy has always believed in the concept of being self-sufficient in the construction of its warships. The decision to construct warships indigenously, to take just one example, was taken in the 1960s. In the recent past, the Navy started its Naval Innovation and Indigenisation Organisation (NIIO) on 13 Aug 2020. Later, the Technology Development Acceleration Centre (TDAC) was also raised. • To celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Indian independence the Navy has decided to pursue a project to develop 75 new technologies/ products. It’s definitely a challenging objective, but the Navy is quite sure of achieving it. • As a part of the 75th Anniversary celebrations, the Navy is also hosting a seminar ‘Swavlamban’ on the 18 19 July, 2022. • Cmde AP Golaya Officer-in-Charge, TDAC discusses the role of NIIO, and the Navy’s remarkable progress in Innovation and Indigenisation with Brig SK Chatterji, Editor Bharatshakti.in. The Cmde has commanded three ships, had a tenure in the NSCS, authored/ co-authored a couple of books, and has articles in various reputed journals. He has also been given the honorary designation of Chief Advisor Defence Innovation by the Rashtriya Raksha University. • #india #indiannavy #atmanirbharta #insvikramaditya #insvikrant • • Follow us on Social Media: • Like us on Facebook: / bharatshakti.in • Follow us on Twitter: / bharatshaktibsi • Follow us on Instagram: / bharatshakti.in
