'Bohinj, Bohinj' (named after Lake Bohinj in Slovenia) is a beautiful waltz by Toni Iskra, an iconic Oberkrainer style accordion player from Slovenia, best known as the accordionist in Hišni Ansambel Avsenik (Avsenik House Ensemble or Hauskapelle Avsenik). Toni is known for his virtuosity on the piano accordion, his unique playing style, and amazing compositions. He performed with Ansambel RΕΎ in the 1980s, Ansambel Tonija Savnika in the 1990s, and his own ensemble, Ansambel Tonija Iskre in the 1990s (where his compositions and unique playing is even more prominent). This waltz was originally recorded by his own ensemble in 1993 featuring former Alpski Kvintet (Alpenoberkrainer) vocalist Irena Vidic, and in 2018 by Hišni Ansambel Avsenik. In 2024 an official video was released by the ensemble, filmed at the iconic Lake Bohinj, Slovenia's largest lake, located in the Gorenjska (Upper Carniola or Oberkrain) region, in the North Western part of Slovenia, which is also the birthplace of the Avsenik brothers, and the 'Oberkrainer' sub-genre of Alpine folk music, also known as Slovenian folk music. • ** If you liked this, please subscribe πŸ”” ** • 🎡 Sheet music and more: https://accordionmaniac.com • β˜• Buy me a coffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/accordionmaniac • πŸ“· Instagram:   / accordionmaniac   • πŸ‘ Facebook:   / accordionmaniac   • β™ͺ TikTok:   / accordion_maniac
