Could ship or boat collisions or sinking such a of Titanic be prevented, if ships had headlights for night? The answer is not so easy, as car like headlights will not work so well in ships or boats. • Some reasons for not using headlights on ships are for their limited range, reflections off water (which could confused other ships), affect on marine life or even the need of building extremely powerful lights for practical solutions.
