30 minutes to Yoga Dandasana! Deep hip openers in yoga require adequate preparation for most yoga practitioners. We will be getting into some deep hip opening yoga in this intermediate peak pose yoga class -- opening the hips to prepare for yoga dandasana by working with hip mobility and flexibility, as well as strengthening and stabilizing the shoulder region so that it can endure a considerable amount of pressure in the peak pose. Even if you don’t make it all the way into yoga dandasana, you will get the benefit of deep hip opening, regardless. This is an intermediate/advanced level yoga asana class, therefore it is not recommended for beginners. *The peak pose puts a considerable amount of pressure on the back of the shoulder joint, as well as on the hip joint, and requires a large outer rotation of the hip joint. Please practice care and mindfulness while attempting intermediate/advanced yoga postures at home, and remember, the most advanced yoga asana practice is knowing when to stop and where to work, and not being attached to any one posture.
