China's National Administration of Surveying, Mapping and Geoinformation on Wednesday published the three-dimensional images of the landslide site in an industrial park in south China's Shenzhen City. • The landslide hit the industrial park at around 11:40 Sunday after the collapse of a huge pile of construction waste from a hill, burying or damaging 33 buildings. • The administration coordinated geographic information enterprises to take aerial shots and photos with drones. After acquiring high resolution images of the disaster-hit area, the administration generated three-dimensional images of the site. • The images give a full view of the site. The boundary lines of the landslide site, damaged infrastructure and vegetation at the site can be clearly seen. • With the images, we can quickly and roughly estimate that there are about 1.7 million cubic meters of soil at the site, with 0.2 square kilometers area affected. The images can provide solid data support for scientific rescue, judging disaster situation and reconstruction, said Zhao Yong, chief engineer of the National Geomatics Center under the administration. • Rescue operation continued on Wednesday, the fourth day after the landslide. The searching area has been expanded, with increasing number of rescuers joining the searching efforts. However, the loose soil and its high moisture content have brought more difficulties to the operation. • More on: http://news.cctvplus.tv/NewJsp/news.j... • Subscribe us on Youtube: / @cctvvideonewsagency • CCTV+ official website: http://newscontent.cctv.com/ • LinkedIn: / cctv-news-content • Facebook: / 756877521031964 • Twitter: / newscontentplus
