Comment Yes or No! • Paraffin lamps smell, give off a horrible smeech that covers everything, get hot, and can be dangerous... but there's something about paraffin lamps that just keeps me going back to them time and time again! • How? What? Why? Who knows! Maybe it's the nostalgia of a paraffin lamp; I can remember my Grandfather using them on his smallholding when I was a small child, and my father relying on a paraffin heater to get used through the coldest parts of winter. • In #bushcrafting terms, I usually just rely on tea light in a glass jar, or a UCO candle lantern to provide ambient light but every now and again I pull out the old paraffin lantern just for 'old time sake' • Paraffin lanterns are also popular - as I understand it - in the prepping world.
