210 BC. Marcellus captures a city through treachery, while Hannibal destroys yet another Roman army. • Historyden greatly appreciates the following patrons for their support: • Chris Nstuff • Andrew Vinnichenko • Note: There is some controversy among modern historians arising from the books of Livy, who is the major source for the the First and Second Battles of Herdonia. He mentions two battles taking place in the span of two years (the first is in 212 BC and the second in 210 BC). Even more interesting is they both occur at the same place .. Herdonia. Even more intriguing is the Roman generals have very similar names (Gn. Fulvius Flaccus and Gn. Fulvius Centumalus). Some historians believe there was in fact only one battle, but other historians feel they are different events. My feeling is they are separate and Livy goes to lengths to explain they are in fact different. Hannibal himself even stated they were different, but remarked to his staff about the similarities. • Complete Ancient Rome playlist:    • Ancient Rome History - Introduction - 01
