Hello :) • This is the requested transcription I've done of the Lynyrd Skynyrd song I Know A Little . This song comes from their 1977 album Street Survivors . The bass player on this track was Leon Wilkeson. • You can find this transcription at Muzento when you sign up with an Advanced Lesson Plan. • I'm not sure I'd heard this Skynyrd song before, but am I ever glad it came to my attention now! This song was a lot of fun to learn :) I really like the energy. It's really driving...love it! :) • It was hard to tell if Leon was sliding into the C# from the C or if it was a hammer on? It can be played both ways and sounds good either way. I saw a video of him playing this song (just a few quick shots) and he had a really unique technique. • The important thing I found (for me) on the main lick on the A chord, was to come in cleanly on beat 2. The rhythm is 1, 2 , 3, 4. I concentrated on giving beat 1 it's full value and come in clean on beat 2. Nail beat 3, and give a nice slide down on beat 4. • When I was practicing this one, I would slow it down by 5-10% sometimes and found it still had a really good feel. I'm sure this could be played live at a little slower tempo and still sound good. As long as it's driving and has lots of energy :) • I hope you enjoy it. Don't forget to like and subscribe and thanks for watching :) • • -------------- • If you appreciate what I do and or find it helpful, I hope you might consider supporting me through the following: • GregsTranscripts - https://www.gregstranscripts.com/ • Muzento - https://www.muzento.com • Patreon - / gregfairweather • or you can make a donation through • PayPal at - http://bit.do/Much-appreciated • • ------------------- • Copyright Disclaimer: Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for fair use for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research.
