These veins are responsible for taking the blood away from the retina. A blockage causes the pressure inside the vessels to rise and therefore leakage of fluid or bleeding. • The leakage can cause swelling of the retina, especially in the Macula area, the central part of the retina which leads to decrease in vision.It is diagnosed by retina examination OCT or Fluorescein Angiography, High blood pressure, Glaucoma, Diabetes, Old age, etc. are causes for vein occlusions. • The treatment consists of observation or Intravitreal injection of Anti -VEGF agents like Eylea Accentrix, Razumab etc. or steroids like Ozurdex. Retinal laser is also offered in some selected cases.
