Legend of the Fifth Sun. • According to Aztec myth, there have been five suns; five eras; five different births to the word. Each sun cyclically succumbed to its destruction, fatally identical to that which came before it, and the world was created again. Some years after the forth calamity, when the world had been created anew with life forms an improvement on the last, the gods gathered in darkness at the city of Teotihuacan to charge a god with the momentous task of illuminating the world. This animation tells the story of the last of these divine creations, the dawn of our own sun, which still exists today. • *** • This is my graduation film, produced at Middlesex University, London in 2017, and made with only the greatest love and dedication to bring to life this beautiful, sacred myth.
