What is DNA replication? • DNA replication is process in which DNA copy or replica is synthesized which is exactly similar to parent strand.. this process usually takes place during cell cycle and in cell cycle in S phase. • what are Steps of DNA replication? • there are 6 steps of replication • 1. DNA melting • 2.formation of pre priming complex • 3.direction of replication • 4. formation of primosome complex • 5. chain elongation • 6.termination • What are leading strand and lagging strand? • leading strand is strand which moves towards the replication form and it is continuous strand. • lagging strand is strand which moves away from replication fork and it is discontinuous strand. • What are OKAZAKI fragments? • these are fragments which are formed as a result lagging strand because strand is discontinuous and synthesized in fragments, so these fragments are called as okazaki fragments. • what is primer? • it is a short fragment of nucleotides which is synthesized by RNA primase enzyme and is is required by DNA pol enzyme to elongate chain. • a very easy made learning with handy key points.. • if you like it then like, subscribe and share it.. • Other links: • / drkhuramazizlectures • Facebook page: • www.facebook.com/Dr.KhuramAziz.Official/ • #biochemistry#drkhuramaziz#DNAreplication
