In the interest of full disclosure I need to tell you that today's Newcastle DraughtKeg was given to us for free by Jack Follman at Formula PR. • We intend to provide you with a fair analysis of the beer and promise not to have our judgement swayed by the really cool free minikeg of beer, the fancy Newcastle glasses, or practical Newcastle coasters to keep the desk clean, this nifty little Newcastle pen or the ridiculously small female Newcastle T-shirts they sent us. Right guys? • Newcastle Brown Ale is brewed at John Smith's Brewery in Tadcaster, England under the watchful eye of Heineken International. It was introduced to the world by Colonel Jim Porter in 1927. • Our beer comes in the Newcastle Draughtkeg -- a 5 liter vessel with a built in CO2 system that will keep the beer tasting good for up to 30 days after it's tapped. It holds up to 10 pints of Newcastle and has a suggested price of $23 US. • Newcastle is an English Brown Ale with 4.7% ABV. They use English Pale and Dark Caramel malts. It is lightly-hopped and they want you to serve it cold at 38-40 degrees Fahrenheit with a one-finger head. • Q A • Newcastle scores a (???) on the BBA Scale.
