A teenager who died after being shot in Oshtemo Township has been identified as Duane Lewis, a student in the Kalamazoo Public School system. • Deputies were called to West KL Avenue near Concord Place Drive for a report of shots fired at about 11:58 p.m. Tuesday. • The district issued the following statement to News Channel 3 Thursday: • On Oct. 30, 2024, Kalamazoo Public Schools was informed that one of our students passed away. We are deeply saddened by the news. Our Crisis Response Team is at the student’s school and will be available for the remainder of the week to meet with any students or staff members.
