The tree in question is an *Albizia saman*, commonly known as a rain tree. This tropical species has survived and thrived in its environment for several centuries. This remarkable tree, withstanding all the challenges thrown at it, has become a symbol of resilience and strength. • A meticulous process was undertaken to prepare for the monumental task of transplanting the tree. Approximately ten to eleven months ago, the tree was root-pruned. This step was crucial as it allowed the tree to generate new roots, helping it adapt and compensate for the upcoming procedure—an enormous transplant akin to a giant surgery. • Once the root pruning was complete, the tree was left in place for months to recover and establish a more robust root system. The next phase involved encapsulating the root ball with a girdling system. This structure was designed to maintain the integrity of the root system and provide the necessary support for the tree during the transplant. • A complex engineering feat was executed to facilitate the tree's actual lifting and moving. A pipe platform was constructed underneath the tree using around 150,000 pounds of thick-walled oil field pipe. This structure served as a lifting grill, similar to the grill on a barbecue pit.
