RVers How To Hitch up travel trailer

A quick how to on how we hitch up our Little Guy Max trailer to our truck. • STEP 1. Make sure your chocks are in place so that your trailer will not move • STEP 2. Fully raise each stabilizer • STEP 3. Raise the tongue of the trailer so that it is higher than the ball on your vehicle • STEP 4. Back truck up under ball hitch; make sure to engage parking brake before exiting vehicle • STEP 5. Lower ball hitch over ball • STEP 6. Slide lock forward • STEP 7. Continue raising jack until secured. • STEP 8. Insert cotter pin/lock on ball hitch • STEP 9. Attach safety chains to vehicle - making sure they are crossed NOTE: if using a weight distribution hitch setup, the chains should be on the inside. • STEP 10. Connect your sway control, insert cotter pins and tighten • STEP 11. Connect your 7-pin plug from tongue to vehicle • STEP 12. Remove chocks • STEP 13. Check torque (for our Little Guy Max we have it set to 100ft/lbs) • STEP 14.
