New Amsterdam Calling video- The Depot Boijmans van Beuningen in Rotterdam is the first museum art storage facility in the world that is open to the public. Built in 2021 the depot houses the Boijmans van Beunigen Museum's art collection that isn't on display in the museum. Which is 92%, as only 8% of the collection is on display at one time. You can exlpore its many floors of paintings and sculpture art and also see how the art is stored, transported and restored. It's awesome exterior resembles a mirror covered bowl and is positioned to reflect the Rotterdam skyliine. And it's possible to go on the roof and walk through the pine trees and enjoy the city views. In the Museumpark area, we also had quick visits to Het Nieuwe Instituut (architecture and digital design) and the Kunsthal (art).
