Welcome to my second discography retrospective video, this time for Cradle Of Filth! Once a mainstay of the British extreme metal underworld, Cradle now include members from around the globe and are a household name when it comes to all things gothic, metal and extreme. Join me as I talk about the band’s history, all their studio albums, and a few EPs for good measure. Hopefully you’ll learn something, and if not, you’ll get a good laugh out of my pointless opinion and my inability to pronounce anybody’s name correctly. • • ** Chapters ** • 00:00 Introduction • 02:29 Demos Goetia • 06:16 Principle Of Evil Made Flesh • 13:41 Vempire • 17:25 Dusk… And Her Embrace • 20:55 Cruelty And The Beast • 23:56 From The Cradle To Enslave • 27:41 Midian • 31:35 Bitter Suites To Succubi • 34:18 Damnation And A Day • 37:49 Nymphetamine • 42:22 Thornography • 46:26 Godspeed On The Devil’s Thunder • 49:44 Darkly Darkly Venus Aversa • 51:56 The Manticore Other Horrors • 54:49 Hammer Of The Witches, Evermore Darkly Midnight In The Labyrinth • 58:18 Dusk… And Her Embrace (The Original Sin) • 1:01:54 Cryptoriana - The Seductiveness Of Decay • 1:04:13 Existence Is Futile Outro • • ** Please Note ** • This video is not monetized. If there’s anything else I got wrong please let me know in the comments and I’ll add it to this list. Cheers! • Gian Pyres (guitar) came in around Dusk And Her Embrace, not Cruelty And The Beast as I have stated in the video. However, although he is credited on the Dusk album, he didn’t play on that record at all. Gian’s name is also pronounced closer to the English name “John”, and is short for Gianpiero. The reason I’m mentioning this is because my pronunciation of it is way, way off in the video (gee-yan lol). • I also heavily understated the presence of Danielle Cottington as the second female vocalist on most of the band’s earlier records, so I apologise for her omission here. My point of bigging up Sarah Jezebel Deva is lost a bit when I completely excluded Danielle. • • ** Further Watching, Listening or Reading? ** • I fell down a rabbit hole of COF info after creating this video, so here’s some links to some other cool stuff. • The Loudwire video where Dani explains their lost album: • • Cradle of Filth's Dani Filth - Wikipe... • Scars Guitars podcast episode interviewing Stuart Anstis, the guitar player for Dusk, Cruelty and From The Cradle To Enslave. I’ve listed other Scars Guitars podcasts below, as his work in contacting the old Cradle guys is absolutely exceptional, but this two-part, long-form interview is phenomenal. Anstis is a fantastic speaker, and he really does not hold anything back whilst recounting his time in Cradle Of Filth: • • A conversation with Stuart Anstis (ex... • Scars Guitars interview of the legendary Nicholas Barker: • • A conversation with Nick Barker (ex- ... • Scars Guitars interview of Damien Gregori, COF keyboardist for Vempire / Dusk: • • A conversation with Greg Moffitt (Dam... • Scars Guitars interview of Benjamin Ryan, COF's original keyboardist: • • A conversation with Benjamin Ryan (ex...
