Sometimes while we waiting and hoping for God to restore us we could find it difficult to really believe some of the amazing promises He has given us. • As we are still in Passover week, I want to draw your attention to a huge miracle that God did for His people as they left their captivity in Egypt. • Here’s the miracle : • “Now the Israelites acted in accordance with the word of Moses; and they asked the Egyptians for articles of silver and of gold and clothing. The Lord gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they gave them what they asked. And so they plundered the Egyptians of those things., Exod. 12:35,36 AMP. • Plunder means to strip of belongings. This was not done by force, when asked the Egyptians willingly turned over their valuables. • The Israelites asked: ‘in accordance with Moses’ word!! • What word? • Do you remember that God called Moses out of the burning bush? This is what He told Moses: • “ I will reach out My hand and strike Egypt with all My wonders which I shall do in the midst of it; and after that he will let you go. 21 And I will grant this people favor and respect in the sight of the Egyptians; therefore, it shall be that when you go, you will not go empty-handed. 22 But every woman shall [insistently] ask her neighbor and any woman who lives in her house, for articles of silver and articles of gold, and clothing; and you shall put them on your sons and daughters. In this way you are to plunder the Egyptians [leaving bondage with great possessions that are rightfully yours].” Exod.3:22 AMP. • Even Moses was unsure of this promise. He answered God with a “What if? “ Exod 4:1 • But when the Exodus actually took place, the Egyptians were so happy to see the Israelites leave. If it meant giving them expensive stuff, then so be it. • You see when God declares something way ahead of time, it will happen. He had even foretold the captivity of His people for 400 years in Egypt, but that they would leave with great substance (Gen. 16:13,14). • What about us? • Some of you reading this are going through tough times financially. Maybe you are in bad debt. • If you are in a poor state as I was when I arrived in France with little money in July 1991. My car was broken into, but nothing was taken. I had the loan of a flat for 2 weeks- then what. But in that top floor flat with ambulance sirens constantly blaring the Lord gave me my promise: “I will restore you… and you shall eat in plenty be satisfied and praise the Name of the Lord,” Joel 2:25,26. • All around me was evidence that this would not, could not happen. • But as Jesus said: “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible,” Mat.9:26 • I have this scripture on a carved wooden plaque in my entrance hall. • The Egyptians found out when they chased the Jews across the Red sea, “God took off their chariot wheels and the Egyptians said: Let us flee from the face of Israel for the Lord is fighting for them against us,” Exod.14:25 • This is a great revelation and conclusion to arrive at in our lives also. • Even during the worst time of my life, now 30 years ago, the Lord not only blessed me with everything I needed, work where there was no work, favour everywhere I went, and divine protection that kept me from being killed on a street called Paradise! • Where are you now in your journey? Maybe you made many mistakes are suffering consequences. • Comfort yourself with this Psalm. It’s King David song of confidence (Psalm 27). Do read all of it. • “Although my father forsook me (in my case at 6 months old) yet the Lord adopted me as His child. What would have become of me, had I not believed that I would see the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living?” Ps.27:10,13. • I’ve been teaching on restoration. Maybe you are not so far down the road as I am, but wherever you are Passover should be a time to rejoice not just in our pascal Lamb, but also to reaffirm our faith in what God told us would happen. • Our book of destiny (Ps 139:16) is written as a biographical poem of our lives. Trust in him He will bring it to pass. • Decree: Father I see how your people plundered their enemies as they came out of slavery. You are no respecter of persons. I decree that goods, reputations, children - all that I have lost I will see Your Hand bringing it back. Like David I trust Your Plan, Lord. It’s a good Plan. Jer. 29:11. • :
