Watch as Better Homes and Gardens shows you how to tile a backsplash! This kitchen remodel idea adds color and pattern to your home. You'll need mosaic tiles, a box cutter, mastic or thinset mortar, a notched trowel, spacers, and the tile cutter or tile nipper. Dry fit your tiles while laying them out on a flat surface. With multiple colors in a wall tile pattern, make sure light colors do not touch. Use a box cutter to cut through the mesh backing and work your way up toward the top if you only need part of the tile. Apply a layer of mastic or thinset mortar, spreading it evenly. Drag the edge of a notched trowel to make ridges in the thinset so the tiles stick securely to the wall. Apply small sections of tile from the counter up, applying even pressure with your hands and using spacers against the counter to ensure even coverage. Continue until the kitchen backsplash is covered. This easy remodeling idea is great for bringing color to your kitchen! • Subscribe to BHG: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_c... • Official Website: http://www.bhg.com/ • Facebook: / mybhg • Twitter: / bhg • Pinterest: / bhg • Instagram: / betterhomesandgardens
