There seems to be a lot of confusion and misinformation in the UK Airsoft community (not the Facebook group specifically!) surrounding the purchase of Airsoft replicas or RIFs (realistic imitation firearms), what constitutes a valid defence, and UKARA. • In this video, I go through what the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006 (VCRA) encompasses when it comes to the law surrounding the manufacture, import and sale of Realistic Imitation Firearms; the valid defence that applies to Airsoft specifically; what a UKARA registration is and who UKARA are; as well as additional laws/rules that apply to airsoft in the UK such as FPS limits, minimum engagement distances and the use of pyrotechnics (briefly). • Disclaimer: I'm not a lawyer and this isn't actually legal advice. Thought I'd better throw that in here. • -------CHAPTERS------- • 0:00 Intro • 0:53 VCRA • 4:04 UKARA • 6:33 Additional Laws FPS Limits • 10:02 Minimum Engagement Distances (MED) • 12:00 Pyro Extra Bits • -------USEFUL LINKS------- • Useful Wiki from u/Sinistrial_Blue - http://bit.ly/3l887du • UKARA – https://bit.ly/38XFLNu • Easier reading on the VCRA - https://bit.ly/2Vuj9Rp • VCRA 2006, Section 36 - https://bit.ly/3lf9pmS • VCRA 2006 (Realistic Imitation Firearms) Regulations 2007, Regulation 3 - https://bit.ly/3nkyAqN • Policing and Crime Act 2017 - https://bit.ly/3BYIxOP • DEFCON Airsoft Pyro - https://bit.ly/3yYsoao • Where I get my music + SFX - https://bit.ly/3E8ZFn8
