Tubal damage, often due to pelvic inflammatory disease or previous surgeries, impedes the passage of eggs. • Endometriosis, where endometrial tissue grows outside the uterus, can cause inflammation and scarring, affecting fertility. Uterine abnormalities, including fibroids and congenital anomalies, can interfere with embryo implantation. Diagnosis involves a thorough history, physical examination, hormonal assays, imaging studies like ultrasound and hysterosalpingography, and sometimes laparoscopy. Treatment varies based on the underlying cause and may include lifestyle modifications, medications, surgical interventions, and assisted reproductive technologies like in vitro fertilization (IVF).
