Presented By: Cameron Myhrvold, PhD • Speaker Biography: Cameron Myhrvold is an Assistant Professor of Molecular Biology at Princeton University. His work specializes in the development of CRISPR-based technologies for studying RNA, with an emphasis on detecting and destroying RNA viruses. He received a PhD in Systems Biology from Harvard in 2016... • Webinar: Detecting Viruses with CRISPR • Webinar Abstract: CRISPR has revolutionized the biosciences over the past decade. The RNA-targeting CRISPR effector protein Cas13, discovered in 2016, opened up a myriad of new applications for CRISPR-based technologies. As a postdoc, I developed Cas13-based technologies for detecting and destroying viral RNA. My talk will discuss both technologies for point-of-care nucleic acid detection (HUDSON, SHINE), and technologies for massively multiplexed nucleic acid detection (CARMEN)... • LabRoots on Social: • Facebook: / labrootsinc • Twitter: / labroots • LinkedIn: / labroots • Instagram: / labrootsinc • Pinterest: / labroots • SnapChat: labroots_inc
