Welcome to my Thyroid Cancer Re-occurrence (recurrence) story. Here I account my results after a whole body scan (WBS) for thyroid cancer. I face a big decision as to how to treat the cancer (nodules found) moving forward and explain what happened after my Whole body scan and my doctor guiding me toward my next steps. • If you are currently going through Thyroid Treatment -welcome and I hope your journey is going well. If you want to say to someone that has Thyroid cancer, Oh, you got the good cancer Then I challenge you to answer yes to any of the following questions: • 1) Would you want someone to take a cut your neck open and remove a pertinent organ you need to survive? • 2) Would you like to not have the vital organ that regulates your metabolism (the way your body uses energy)? • 2) Would you want to have to take medicine the rest of your life to function? • 3) Would you enjoy low energy levels and fatigue on a regular basis? • 4) Would you want a cancer that has a high re-occurance rate and basically takes you out for several weeks over multiple years over your lifetime for testing and treatment when needed? • Does Thyroid cancer still sound good to you? No cancer or disease is ever good. Ever. We THYCA survivors are thankful for having a high survival rate type of cancer but that does not negate the issues we must deal with while surviving our cancer on a daily basis. • I appreciate you listening to my perspective about my experience with Thyroid cancer. Have a blessed day and check your neck often for any strange or new lumps/bumps. Lots of love ! ~Mama Bear
