And by doing this, LA exposed a huge weakness for the Suns that needs to be fixed if they are serious about contending for a championship. • Take a look at what’s going on riiight here. We got 1,2,3,4, all 5 Suns players surrounding Lebron on the rebound. But as we let it roll, James dominates all of them for the board. • We got the same thing in this situation. 3 guys around Anthony Davis on this shot, but AD still comes up with it. • The Lakers grabbed 21 offensive rebounds, and the league leaders in the NBA get about 14 per game. So basically the Suns made it look like they’re playing against Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell in their prime. • This happens to them on a nightly basis actually, as Phoenix is 27th in the league in this category. They allow their opponents to get a bunch of offensive rebounds. • This was the only way possible mathematically for the Lakers to win this game despite shooting that much worse than the Suns. By getting more shots at the rim than Phoenix. • LA actually shot 27 more shots than the Suns. 27 more shot attempts is astonishing, and the huge advantage that the Suns had in field goal percentage was all for nothing when the Lakers got that many more opportunities to score. • And of course the Lakers will dominate when you have Eric Gordon guarding Davis under the basket. • What kind of matchup is this? This is barbeque chicken all day every day. • The Suns do these types of experiments from time to time. Against the Spurs that I also covered, they had him guarding a 7’4’’ Victor Wembanyama. Gordon looked like a little kid against Wemby and it ended badly for Phoenix. • This is because both Nurkic and Eubanks are not quick enough to guard more athletic bigs who can move inside and outside the paint and also hit shots from distance. • You see how Eubanks can do nothing on this pick and roll as he’s too slow to react here and Davis throws this one in. • On the contrary here against Lebron, James completely blows by him and lays it in. • So the Suns were caught balancing between playing the slower bigs, and the quicker but much smaller guys on Lebron and AD. • Right here we got Jordan Goodwin on Lebron. Look at the size difference and James is just casually going to get to his spot and put this one in. Easy money. • Devin Booker battling against James? This is a joke, so you see the finish and the flex from Lebron as there’s no way that Book could stop him. • The Lakers exposed the lack of size for the Suns and this is a massive issue. • They desperately need a bigger and stronger body that’s going to get defensive rebounds and will fight with the more athletic opposing players. • Phoenix cannot allow nights where someone will be too big and strong for KD, Gordon and Nassir Little, and too quick and deadly on the shot for Nurkic and Eubanks. • Not in the playoffs in the West. So I am fully expecting a move before the trade deadline to try and fix this problem. • The Celtics also got exposed just a few days ago, as they made a catastrophic mistake, and I made a video exposing it.
