Early fall (about 6 weeks before the first frost date) is often my most favourite time of the year to plant new plants and divide existing plants in the garden. At this time of the year, the temperatures are cooler, thus promoting the perfect conditions for root growth...helping plants get their roots established into their new home and prepare for our cold northern winter.
