Thomas Bloch: http://www.thomasbloch.net - The French multi-instrumentalist virtuoso Thomas Bloch (ondes Martenot, glassharmonica, cristal Baschet, waterphone), Jean Thorel (conductor) and the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong play the Quartet for strings with continuo (glass harmonica) by Benjamin Franklin. Originally composed for 3 violin parts and cello playing on open strings, the version recorded here has been re-arranged to be played with normally tuned instruments and a continuo played by the glass harmonica (invented by the composer). Live in Hong Kong City Hall during Le French May Festival.
