This prelude is based upon the hymn tune St Agnes , composed by that prolific Victorian composer of hymn tunes, John Bacchus Dykes. It is recorded, here, using the Cavaillé-Coll sample not because of any particularly French influence, but as an opportunity to give the luscious Récit Strings and Grand Orgue Flûte Harmonique another opportunity to shine and shimmer! • • It is published in Volume 1 of Church Organ World's Be still for the presence of the Lord series, which can be ordered here: • https://sheetorganmusic.co.uk/product... • This was recorded on a Johannus Live III AGO organ, using the sample of the Cavaillé-Coll organ in Église Notre-Dame d'Auteuil, Paris. The sample sets can be heard from four positions: console, front of the church, centre of the church. This one was recorded using the rear of the church setting, allowing the most generous recording of the acoustic. • Steven Maxson is well known as an organist, conductor, composer, and arranger.
