The series shows the life of a mother and one who desired to be a mother. Actress Steffy Leon portrays the title character 'Devanthi' of Vivahitha. Kumarakom Reghunath essays the role of Major Prathap Chandran, Devanthi's father. Popular actress Vinduja Menon and Reshmi Soman also play pivotal roles in this series. Both are back to mini-screen after a long hiatus. It is the first time that these two actresses are working together for a serial. • Plot • Major Prathap Chandran (Kumarakom Reghunath) loses his wife (Shalini) in a car accident. He believes that his wife is dead. His daughter Devanthi (Steffy Leone) grows up seeing her father live the life of a drunkard after her mother's death. She starts fearing for her father's life after she gets married. She hopes that her father will mend his ways if he has a companion in his life. She believes that her much beloved Professor Archana can make a good man out of her father. She works to join them both together. However, Professor is haunted by her past. Her husband Umashanker gets out of jail on parol and is in search of her. Shalini and her father give shelter to Professor in their house. Later, they get married. However, an expected event awaits the life of Prathap Chandran and Devanthi.
