I was thinking things over what would be the best birthday gift for him this year. A bright idea hit upon me this morning. I decided to write a hymn. • He fell into a thought for some time, a writing brush in hand. Then he began writing the hymn in Chinese letters. • Jong Il Peak soars high above Mt. What I have done so far is not worth your hymn. • The President said: Oh yes, you deserve it well. • Turning to one of the officials, the President asked that the hymn be sent to him. • After reading the hymn, leader Kim Jong Il said: • The poem is the best gift of the President for me.
