1500 square feet of roof for 100 berm shed

A simple and freaky cheap roof. When thinking about how much shed space is needed, and thinking about the cost of the roof, it is easy to think back on the designs of Mike Oehler's $50 and up underground house book. Mike showed that if you can stick to a simple design principle, you can cut your roof costs about 99%. So I've extended those designs to a simple shed. I'm barely putting a dent in my forest to get the wood for this shed. And working the wood very little. Then a layer of plastic. The plastic is not UV resistant, so it must be covered. Plus a green roof is always the most beautiful. The result is a huge shed with a very cheap roof that looks like a garden. We do use some used billboard material to help protect the plastic from stobs and rocks. Another interesting bit about this particular video is that we needed to get the dirt up on the roof, but the tractor couldn't quite reach. So we made a ramp.
