WARNING: RECOMMENDED PG-13 VIEWERS • VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED! • Contains blood and mild gore. • Thanks for all the comments good and bad, I read them all but won't reply to them on the whole as this channel is not active anymore. • [This channel is no longer updated, please do not subscribe, I'm leaving this up solely for people to enjoy/aid learning poetry! But thanks anyway!] • Inspired by Alfred Noyes' The Highwayman. It's a tale of two lovers whose love transcends death. The music is by Ethan Maltby and animation by K. Cheng. • For information on music please contact Ethan Lewis Maltby: • http://www.ethanlewismaltby.com/Home/ • FAQ: • Q- Why aren't there any words? • A- The poem is under copyright of the Noyes Estate and as such I don't have the rights to display the video with the original poem which I did have a recording for (and would need the original narrator's permission as well), instead I hired a musician to score the track. • Q- Didn't the copyright end 100 years after his death? • Yes and no, while originally this copyright period ended at 100 years, estates of the author could apply for an extension of copyright period. Noyes Estate still holds the copyright for this work. • Q- Why isn't it the Loreena M. version instead? • A- While it's good in it's own right, I wanted an instrumental score to underline the dramatic and quiet parts of the story. • Q- Can I use the imagery with my own soundtrack? • A- Only if it's NOT FOR PROFIT and I am APPROPRIATELY CREDITED for my work. For the sake of completeness I'd also recommend you credit Alfred Noyes, whom work this is derivative of out of respect for his family. • Q- Can I buy the music for this animation? • A- Possibly, please see the link above to contact the composer Ethan Maltby to find out.
