The BCFD answered two separate calls to the same cotton field on Sunday, October 20th. A Farmer has just harvested cotton from his first field, for the year. • The “compaction process” of pressing the cotton into the module, or the harvesting of the Cotton with the Picker, can cause sparks, a “hot rock”, piece of metal and even “self heating”of the cotton, due to compaction. • BCFD answered the 1st call at 1:53pm, followed by a 2nd call (different module of cotton) at 5:38pm. Rescue 1, Engine 71 and Engine 1 responded. The fire was in a field on Lucas Road, near Belflower road, Cochran, Ga. #firefighter #firefighting
