Well after a panic, I ended up getting my hands on this https://rhinotools.com.au/product/rep... from rhinotools.com.au its a ZD-985 desoldering gun and as far as I can tell, this works with my 7 pin Jaycar 80W Desoldering Station TS1513 • Here is the link to the jaycar listing: https://www.jaycar.com.au/spare-80w-d... • The forum post I started is here: https://www.eevblog.com/forum/repair/... • So yes, for myself this seemed to have worked out better then I had hopped, now if the heating element in my main gun fails, I can now just use the spare one to help install a new one... • I was thinking there was a PCB on the inside, turns out this was not true. • But still, I do show the inside.
