If you like the video please share and subscribe 🙏 • Cheera chembu is a nutritious and delicious leafy vegetable. • Recently introduced in kerala and substituted the position of colacasia leaves. • This particular Taro was developed for its yield of edible leaves and stems rather than its tuber as it has the least amount of irritating crystals and does not need a long cooking time - ten minutes is adequate. • The plant is native to the west indies it is believed that it was brought to hawai from tahiti island, thus its name came as tahitian spinach. • The leaves and leaf stem are eaten as a cooked, green vegetable and used for preparing delicious '' Thoran ''. • The leaf and leaf stem provides protein, calcium, phosphorus, iron, potassium and • vitamins A, B and C the leaves can be harvested all year round. • INGRIDENTS : • Cheera chembu • Grated coconut • Turmeric powder • Green chilli • Cumin seed • Salt • Garlic • Onion • Coconut oil • Method : • Add coconut oil in to a heated pan • When coconut oil is heated add Mustard seeds, cheera chembu. • Add salt. • Cook in low flame by covering the lid. • Grind coconut with green chilli, Shallots, garlic, cuminseeds and turmeric powder. • Add Grated coconut and mix cook for 2 to 3 minutes by covering the led. • Open the lid and mix well. • Add one table spoon coconut oil and off flame. • Cheerachembu thoran is ready to serve. • Enjoy this healthy and tasty dish with your after noon meal. • #cheerachembuthoran • #leafyvegtablerecipe • #tahitianspinach • • About : Behsina's Creations is a YouTube channel, where you will find delicious recipes with the ingredients which are easily available.
