New hunters are sometimes hesitant to get into a tree stand because either they are afraid of heights or are uncertain why a tree stand is needed in the first place. Aside from some of the pros and cons... in particular with this video pay attention to the vantage point you get in both the ground level video footage and the tree stand footage taken about 15 feet up. • Ground level: • More mobility and freedom to change spots on the fly • Deer could be 15 yards away and you may never know • Safer (no risk of falls) • Easier shot angles • However, this equates to more RISK • Tree Stand: • Less mobility (though, climbing tree stand retains some mobility) • Better vantage point • Harder shot angles • However, SAFER shot angles as the ground is now the backdrop • Riskier when faced with prospect of fall (wear a safety harness!) • #deerhunting #howto
