Happy Birthday to Bruce Thomas who was born on this date in 1948. • Normally, I’d be writing about how, back in 2012, Bruce Thomas posted a couple of my covers on his personal website, but I’ve told the story so many times that I’m sure most of you are sick of hearing about it. • “Oliver’s Army” by Elvis Costello and the Attractions off of their “Armed Forces” album which came out in 1979 and features the incredible Bruce Thomas on bass. • I consider Bruce to be one of the great, under-sung heroes of the bass world.
