Day 2 of the 2023 TITANS OF TALLINGTON Grasstrack, and it's the turn of the bigger classes to put on a show. The 250cc Solo's was so competitive, with a few from the Youth Intermediate class now being able to ride in with the adults, and these young lads were absolutely flying. Charlie Wood and Hayden Watts never making good starts, it was fantastic to watch them carve their way through the field. Then you had Kenzie Cossey who did make good starts doing battle with the likes of David Knowles and Ricky Scarboro. Tim Greig is renowned for his gating, and nothing has changed, but could he hold off the pack? • Some great racing in the 350cc class, with veteran Dave Mears still in the mix with Luke Harris, Steve Garside, and the ever improving Jack Roberts. Paul Cooper in the 500cc Solo's had his hands full with Charlie Powell and Steve Green, Powell at times looking like a passenger, although that could've been down to the challenging track, as it did get a little rough in places, despite track grading. • In the 500cc Sidecars, Hughes Bennett looked a class apart from the rest of the crews. Not even Paul Whitelam/Richard Webb could get near them, even though they are improving all the time. Keep an eye on Shaun Hughes/Louis Bennett this year, they are going to be a crew to be reckoned with, and will give the like of Mitch Godden/Paul Smith all the trouble they can handle. • The 1000cc RH Sidecars saw the usual suspects going as well as ever, and Mark Cossar/Gareth Williams started this season where they left off last season. Will they get beating in 2013? That is the question. Colin Blackbourn/Carl Pugh may be one crew who might achieve that at some point. They to looked to be flying around the Tallington circuit, but sadly we never got to see the clash in the final due to some injured riders being attended to after a couple of nasty looking spills in the 250cc final. A good meeting to kick-off the 2023 Grasstrack season all the same. • More help is still needed if i am to continue filming meetings.
