Due to the fact that it is still in third position on the sales lists for 4x4 utes, there is definitely no reason to worry about the future of the Mitsubishi Triton just yet. The Triton was able to keep its head above water for the longest period thanks to list prices that were a good step below those of top-selling vehicles like the Toyota HiLux and the Ford Ranger. • The Triton's rivals have been stepping up their game in order to give it a run for its money. To begin, there is the LDV T60, not to mention an enhanced Nissan Navara that has recently arrived, as well as a brand-new and noticeably more capable GWM Ute. • All of this put a significant amount of pressure on the lowly Triton. • When it comes to the 2021 Mitsubishi Triton GLS 4x4, you are looking at a model that is positioned one rung below the top-of-the-line GSR. It is done up with the type of chrome trim that appeals to a more conventional consumer base, and it takes up the same amount of room as a Toyota Hilux SR5 or a Ford Ranger XLT. • When you choose the Triton instead of the Aeon, your vehicle's overall performance will suffer somewhat as a result. The 2.4-liter turbo diesel engine has not undergone significant revisions over the last several years, which is why it still produces 133 kW and 430 Nm despite the fact that the majority of higher-priced competitors are moving toward 150 kW and 500 Nm. • According to a comparable metric, the Triton's towing capability falls a little short of the 3.5-tonne class average and is instead rated to haul up to 3.1 tonnes. However, the payload is still a respectable 900 kg. • When you purchase a Triton GLS, you will get a pickup truck that is stylish and fully equipped but is not on the cutting edge of automotive technology. It may not seem like much, but for many business owners, that's precisely what they need. • Therefore, the list of equipment has a sufficient amount of items without being excessive. The look package is comparable to the GLX-R trim level that is one level below it. It has alloy wheels that are 18 inches in diameter and a chrome accented bumper and grille. However, the inside is outfitted with additional features. • Accessories that come standard on the GLS model include keyless entry and push-button starting, dual-zone temperature control, power-folding mirrors, steering wheel paddle shifters, LED headlights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and premium cloth detailing. There is a rear differential lock as well as Super Select 4x4, which enables the usage of four-wheel drive on hard conditions. This feature may prove to be more beneficial. • There is some additional safety equipment available, such as blind-spot warning with lane-change assist, front park sensors, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beam, and something called ultrasonic misacceleration mitigation. This ultrasonic misacceleration mitigation helps prevent low-speed parking taps by cutting the accelerator if the car detects you are too close to an object. • In addition to this, additional trim levels come standard with equipment such as lane-departure warning and automatic emergency braking equipped with pedestrian recognition, cruise control with a speed restriction, automatic lighting and wipers, a rear step bumper, rear privacy tint, and heated mirror glass. • Although the GLS Deluxe pack wasn't included in the model that was put through this evaluation, it includes features such as leather seat trim, front seat heating, a motorized driver's seat, and a 360-degree camera in addition to the rear camera that comes as standard. • The rear passengers are provided with USB charging ports, but the available seat space is not as broad or as long as it is in some of the more recent utes in the class, which have expanded their width and wheelbases throughout the course of the segment's history. • The ubiquitous 7.0-inch infotainment display offered by Mitsubishi allows you to bring in a phone with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as Bluetooth and digital radio; however, it does not come with an incorporated navigation system. Additionally, it does not have sufficient backlighting punch for bright days, which results in the screen being dark and often difficult to read. • Special thanks to Eastside Mitsubishi for allowing me to film this car :D • Address: Eastside Mitsubishi • 303 Whitehorse Road Nunawading VIC 3131 • Contact: TJ Ranaweera • Mob: (03) 98787 3333 • Email: [email protected] • #mitsubishi #triton #review
