UWM researchers work hand in hand with practitioners at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin to improve the lives of children and families by designing and implementing effective programs such as Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). • PCIT enhances parent-child relationships through live coaching of skills that promotes positive attention to desirable behaviors. PCIT also provides parents with education on the impact of toxic stress on child functioning and strengthens the parent-child relationship to support the short- and long-term well-being of children, families and communities. • This work is done through the Institute for Child and Family Well-Being, a collaboration between Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. • Learn more about UWM: http://go.uwm.edu/2pgqtfu • Get more UWM: • Facebook: / uwmilwaukee • Instagram: / uwmilwaukee • Snapchat: / uwmilwaukee • Twitter: / uwm • YouTube: / uwmnews
