Puerto Ricans on governors decision not to resign

(24 Jul 2019) More than 100 protesters gathered around the Puerto Rico governor's mansion in San Juan on Wednesday in a renewed push to oust Governor Ricardo Rosselló. • Hundreds of thousands of Puerto Ricans have been outraged by leaked, obscenity-laced online chats between Rosselló and his advisers, and have protested for nearly two weeks demanding his resignation. • I think that at this moment, he is alone. It's impossible for him not to resign, said protester Dora Maya, who has a house in Old San Juan and plans to retire there. • Fellow demonstrator Gustavo Soriano said the people had shown they do not want Rosselló or anyone with the agenda of corruption, to steal from the people . • In response to local media reports that Rosselló was on the verge of leaving Puerto Rico, Public Affairs Secretary Anthony Maceira said the governor has not resigned and remains in Puerto Rico.
