This video details how to remove and replace your Jeep CJ-5 motor mounts. This vehicle is a 1962 Willys/Jeep with the F-134 engine. The front mounts were completely worn out and the transmission mount was pretty bad, too. We ordered the complete set from J.C. Whitney Co. and they shipped them quickly and for free. The transfer case biscuit seemed like it wasn't quite the right one for this vehicle, so we reused the old biscuit, which luckily was in the best shape of any of the mounts. The job is not terribly complicated or difficult but does take some time to complete. The cross member needs to be taken off to gain access to the transmission and transfer case mounts. I have a video explaining that procedure for anyone that is interested and the link to it will be at the end of this description. The motor needs to be jacked up to remove and replace the front mounts. We used a piece of 6 x8 lumber as a base for a small hydraulic jack under the front of the oil pan and another piece of 2 x2 wood between the jack and oil pan to do the raising of the engine. We also loosened the rear transmission and transfer case mounts before we lifted the engine, to avoid putting unnecessary stress on them, and to allow everything to re-align itself after the new front mounts were in. • • How To Remove Cross Member On CJ-5 Wi... - How To Remove Cross Member
