The famous Theme From Star Trek, recorded in late 1974 by engineer whiz Terry Manning at the Stax Recording Studios, 926 East MacLemore, Memphis. Released under the group name Warp Nine in early 1975 on the Privilege label (also home to a release of September Gurls by Big Star) in the US, and on EMI in the UK. • Manning used his early knowledge of synthesis, gleaned from personal instruction in synthesizers by Robert Moog and in electronic technique by Karlheinz Stockhausen, to parody the then-current Star Trek convention craze, and even attended several ST conventions in disguise as Warp Nine! • This track and it's B-side Para Song I also appeared in the next millennium on the CD release Rockin' Memphis 1960's-1970's on the Lucky Seven label. • • Para Song I - Warp Nine (Terry Manning)
