So in this video essay I use Wall-E's Axiom star liner (and the board game Monopoly) to illustrate how social systems operate in our culture. • PATREON • Support this project on Patreon: •   / popdetective   • PAYPAL • Make a one-time donation via PayPal: • https://www.paypal.me/popdetective • WISHLIST • Send research materials for video essays: • https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls... • LINKS • • Watch Allan G Johnson explain social systems using Monopoly: •    • People, Systems, and the Game of Mono...   • • On why systems of privilege aren't just people by Allan G Johnson • http://www.agjohnson.us/glad/arent-sy... • RECOMMENDED BOOKS • • The Forest and the Trees: Sociology as Life, Practice, and Promise • https://www.amazon.com/Forest-Trees-S... • • The Gender Knot: Unraveling Our Patriarchal Legacy • https://www.amazon.com/Gender-Knot-Un... • • The Will to Change: Men, Masculinity, and Love • https://www.amazon.com/Will-Change-Me... • FULL TEXT TRANSCRIPT: • http://popculturedetective.agency/201... • COMMENTS • YouTube comments are held for approval due to harassment of this channel.
