Are you too old to become a DJ? • I get a lot of questions from people who used to DJ 20 or 30 years ago and who wish to start doing it agin now. I also get emails from people who have never been a DJ, but feel that they would like to explore this artform now (later in life). Both groups have one major doubt: are they too old to start DJ'ing? • In my opinion, you are NEVER too old to start DJ'ing, but keep in mind that there is a big difference between DJ'ing as a hobby and DJ'ing on a professional level. • If we're talking about doing this as a hobby, you are never too old and I would suggest that you try it out. It's a lot of fun to play with your favorite music and it can enhance your life. • If we're talking about becoming a professional DJ, I think you could do this at any age, but you do have to realize that this is a lot harder (mentally and physically) because it's a different lifestyle with work hours that are not that easy to combine with a normal lifestyle. When you're young it's a little bit easier, but at a certain age it becomes harder and harder.
