PASAY– In transitioning into a dawn of a new era as a climate insurance and forging strong alliances, CLIMBS Life and General Insurance Cooperative commemorates its 52nd Annual General Assembly on April 25–26, 2024 at the Manila Marriott Hotel, Pasay City. The insurance cooperative unfolds a new chapter in its journey, anchoring on the theme “Climate Insurance Year 1: Let’s Connect, Lead, Inspire, Motivate, Build and Sustain!” • Since its inception in 1971, CLIMBS has been a beacon of hope and financial inclusivity in the lives of every Filipino. It has lived by the International Cooperative Principles and values of self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity, and solidarity as its lifeblood and the beating heart of its organization. • This year, CLIMBS has mobilized more than 20 visionary leaders and trailblazers from both public and private sectors in its educational forum which was hosted by the Cooperative College of the Philippines–-all coming together to respond to the call for action and draw attention for collective action on climate justice. I believe that this event will have a lasting impact on our organization as well as to our member-cooperatives all around the country, in which we hope for a sustainable future that will cascade down to the grassroots level. This is also an opportunity for us to echo our battle cry as the pioneering climate insurance provider in the Philippines.” CEO and President of CLIMBS, Noel D. Raboy reiterates his statement during this year’s assembly. • In present, CLIMBS has 4.8 billion insurance company in assets, it has already owned a 3-storey building on a 5,065 square meter lot in Barangay Bulua, Cagayan de Oro City which consists of its training center and a 5-storey commercial building which serves as its Head Office followed by multiple branch and satellite offices all over the Philippines. • During the event, multi sectoral resourced speakers and innovators from the Climate Change Commission (CCC), International Cooperative Alliance (ICA), Global Co-operative College Network (GCCN), Co-operative College UK, @globalparametrics407, Agriculture Cooperative Development International/Volunteers in Overseas Cooperative Assistance (ACDI/VOCA), @ciatweb , @ibisanetwork3676, Institute of Management, USAID-OEDG, Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC), Asian Development Bank (ADB), PAG-ASA, European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (EECP), International Cooperative and Mutual Assurance Federation (ICMIF), Department of Environmental and Natural Resources came together all at once during its Educational Forum in alignment with the cooperative principle number 5 and 7, Education, Training and Information and Concern for Community which CLIMBS is coherently rooted upon. • Despite the challenges and setbacks over the years, CLIMBS has continued to strive forward and paved the way to success by its futuristic leaders who shaped the organization into a people-led, service-oriented grassroots insurance institution that is able to embody the values and principles of the cooperative identity by not only providing its service to the community but also to the vulnerable sectors of society. • • #climbsinsurance #climateinsurance #insuringwhereyouare #generalassembly
