Venomous Hail—Summoner Outlander gameplay in Tarroch's Tomb (NG+ Elite) • I've finally maxed out my second Outlander build in Torchlight 2. This time, it's a hybrid Summoner/Poison Outlander that utilizes Venomous Hail to support my pets and summoned minions. • Early-game, I chose Shadowshot as my main attack skill. Shadowshot has a longer range than Rapid Fire, and is more reliable at hitting targets than Chaos Burst. That makes it a better left-click skill for a summoner Outlander whose primary objective is to support its pet and minions. • A case certainly could be made for Rapid Fire or Chaos Burst in a summoner build. It all comes down to player preference. But as far as I'm concerned, Shadowshot's target-seeking projectiles and high base damage makes it perfect for taking care of low-health stragglers. • At level 42, Venomous Hail becomes my main attack skill for supporting my minions. It has a 2-second cooldown. • To maximize damage output, I cast Shadowshot 2 or 3 times whilst Venomous Hail is on cooldown. This skill rotation is the bread and butter of this build. They also trigger the passive skills, Poison Burst and Shadowling Ammo. • Bramble Wall is a one-point wonder. It's sole purpose is to be destroyed. You cast Venomous Hail on the Bramble Walls to trigger Poison Burst and Shadowling Ammo. This combo allows you to deal massive splash damage on groups of monsters. It becomes even more potent if you have Glacial Spike spell-triggers on your weapon. • Shadowling Brute and Death Ritual are both no-brainers for this build. The Shadowling Brute is just so cool. You'd want to maximize it's duration on the battlefield. • Stone Pact is great for healing yourself, and your pets and minions whilst Repulsion Hex helps you repel foes that come too close. • You might notice that I did not put points into Bane Breath. Damage-wise, it's pretty lackluster. I'd rather nuke things with Venomous Hail than waste time trying to make Bane Breath work. • This Outlander wields a pistol and a shield. This equipment setup enables the use of more Skulls of Umbarmun, a gem that boosts pet and minion damage by 35%. Having a shield also helps the Summoner Outlander survive more in battle. • I had so much fun with this build. This is probably my second best favorite Outlander build, right next to the Shattering Glaive/Glaivelander build. • Watch out for my next Outlander build— the Shotgonne Outlander. • If you liked this content, please consider subscribing to this channel.
