Instagram- / jturner0 • This video is taken with GoPro 3+. We were staying at 7-mile beach and decided to drive to Rum Point to snorkel for the day. We stopped along the way to see the blue iguanas. We first snorkeled along starfish point to see the giant starfish. After this we stopped at a beach at Rum point and asked if we could swim to the barrier reef. We were given a buoy with a flag that we swam with so that boats could see us. The current made swimming a bit more difficult. We swam about a half a mile in total, almost to the barrier reef and back. I also brought some squid to feed the fish and this made them swarm around us. We saw two eagle rays, some barracuda, a spiny lobster, lots of conch snails, and tons of colorful reef fish. The reef seemed very healthy. After snorkeling at many other spots in Grand Cayman Rum point was probably the best spot. • see link for maps of the snorkeling spots off of Rum Point. • snorkelblog.tumblr.com/post/2748786264/rum-point-barrier-reef?wc=EAtmGQh5DBouAxFuBwEdEhUWUREP
