Steak and Fries 🥩🍟 • Cooking up a New York strip steak for dinner and serving it with some fries cooked in the air fryer! Using the cast iron skillet is my favorite method for cooking a steak. I prefer my steaks medium rare, and I try to pull them off the heat at 120F. I rest them for at least 10 minutes, and the carryover heat takes them to a perfect 125F. Enjoy! • Ingredients: • -steak of your choice • -2 large russet potatoes • -salt and pepper • -olive oil • -butter • Instructions: • -cut the washed potatoes into half-inch batons; add into a bowl • -add in 4 tbs olive oil, 1 tsp salt, 2 tsp pepper, and mix well • -add into the air fryer and cook at 400F for 30 minutes • -let the steak rest at room temp for 20 minutes before patting it dry with paper towels • -generously coat both sides with coarse salt and pepper • -set a cast iron on medium high heat; when it starts to smoke a bit, add about 3 tbs of olive oil • -lay the steak down into the skillet away from you and press it down • -cover the steak with a steak weight and splatter screen • -after 4 minutes, flip the steak over, place the steak weight on, add in a halved bulb of garlic, and let it all cook for 2 minutes • -remove the steak weight and add in 2 tbs of butter • -baste the steak with the butter for about 1 minute • -once the internal temp of the steak reaches 120F, take it off the heat and allow it to rest on a baking sheet for 10 minutes • -slice the steak into half-inch slices and serve with the fries • -enjoy! • #steak #fries #steakdinner #dinner #airfryer #potatoes #recipes #easyrecipes #food #foodie #cooking #meal #homecooking #homechef #protein
