In order for this two-candle formation to qualify as a Bullish engulfing pattern, the second white candle has to engulf the body of the first, prior black candle. • The black candle can be in any format, as long as it is engulfed by the white candle. It does not matter if the white candle does not engulf the shadows/wicks of the black candle. It is only the body that has to be engulfed.
